It’s the season of wonder, and the North Shore is getting in on the action with fresh exhibits, neighborly deeds, salon-filled days and gifts that sparkle.
Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger Tisserand necklace in 18K gold with sapphires, tanzanites and diamonds
There’s an element of wonder that surrounds Tiffany & Co. As it releases high jewelry collection Extraordinary Tiffany, an homage to its 180-year legacy, the magic is still in the air. With an eye trained on impeccable craftsmanship, each piece is an ode to the brand’s expertise in transforming rare diamonds and gemstones into glimmering works of art. “There is a decidedly modern aesthetic to our high jewelry pieces that feels unique to Tiffany,” says Chief Artistic Officer Reed Krakoff. “These pieces are meant to be worn daily, rather than just for special occasions—fully incorporated into the lives of the women who wear them.” Fans take note: The collection will make a special appearance at the Michigan Avenue store Nov. 5 to 15. By special order, 4999 Old Orchard Shopping Center, Skokie
The Block Museum of Art’s virtual fall tours draw inspiration from Bryan Stevenson’s bestselling book Just Mercy and similar themes of justice and race. The Mercy in the Museum: Online Collection Tours are filled with teaching resources, including digital discussions of artwork, cinema screenings and downloadable images from the museum collection. This series contributes to The Block’s yearlong 40th-anniversary celebration, which counts tours, talks and programs among its resources centered on the museum’s own collection, as well as the notion of artworks, artists and museums helping to reframe and rethink history. 40 Arts Circle Drive, Evanston
