Style is a state of mind and fashion a means of expression, which is all the more important in our rapidly changing world. We check in favorite past NS Women of Style for some words of wisdom.

This year has taught me... to be resilient. My mother lived through World War II as a child, and she’s been counseling our families on how to buckle down and survive. So be patient, be kind and be helpful!
What I’m most passionate about right now is… resetting the globe. We have an opportunity to get this right in terms of equality, the environment, and social and economic issues.
My proudest achievement is... my boys—men now—but truly, I’m proud of who they are and how they are coping.
To me, style means... you! It’s your individual statement. It’s not necessarily what you are wearing, it’s how, when and why. I’ll always dress for the occasion—although, lately, I’ve been dressing for my Zoom meetings: comfy clothes and sometimes a great pair of earrings.
My favorite designers of the moment are… The Fashion Floor at the Bridgeport Art Center, where the Skyline Loft and the Sculpture Garden Gallery event spaces are located.
What I’m wearing now... is a mask from a local designer, Varmelle Jones, who also creates custom pillowcases for cancer patients at local hospitals.
