West Loop hot spot Bar Siena stakes a claim on the North Shore dining scene this spring with a much-anticipated new location at Old Orchard.
The expansive menu boasts a healthy variety of fire-roasted pies.
Spring is about rebirth and revival, so it’s only appropriate that DineAmic Hospitality has once again paired with executive chef Fabio Viviani to unveil Bar Siena Old Orchard, a suburban sister restaurant to the lauded West Loop fave. The new Skokie location, appropriately stationed in Westfield Old Orchard, is set to debut in June and will offer all of the Italian dishes you know and love in a chic, upscale environment.
The resto serves up a mean New York strip.
“Bar Siena Old Orchard’s vibe will be a combination of elements like the quaint and charming trattorias in Siena, Italy, and the industrial aesthetic of Chicagoland,” DineAmic Hospitality founding partner Luke Stoioff shares. Top Chef alum Viviani agrees, adding, “[It has a] large space for gathering, beautiful outdoors, private rooms—it’s a true downtown destination without the downtown drive.”

The 8,500-square-foot space, dressed up by Katherine Ingrassia Design, is resplendent with exposed brick, pendant lighting, a spice-inspired color palette and an ornamental steel illuminated tree, Bar Siena’s signature design feature. An open kitchen that can be seen from the majority of the restaurant will feature a large specialty oven made by hand in Italy named Bella Due (the original Bella oven is still at work in the West Loop). The main entrance sits on the east side of the restaurant and boasts an outdoor pergola with retractable walls, twinkle lights, warm chandeliers and a 25-foot-tall living wall with ivy and various florals. On the west side, the mall entrance offers covered outdoor dining designed to transport you to a cozy wine bar in Tuscany.
Chef Viviani toasts to the new venture.
As for the food? “Bar Siena will feature from-scratch food and cocktails—a great Italian menu with an American twist,” chef Viviani champions. “The menu will focus on cicchetti-style dining, perfect for sharing with your colleagues, family or friends,” continues DineAmic hospitality principal David Rekhson. Sink your teeth into sumptuous fare, from fresh pasta and fire-roasted pizzas to decadent Italian-inspired street food and small plates. Expect favorites from the original menu, like burrata with spicy apricot and octopus over Swiss chard, alongside exclusive new items only available at the Old Orchard location—think modern twists on traditional Italian favorites like linguine with clams and the chicken piccata, plus a designated kids menu to better serve the whole family.
