This recently debuted 42,000-square-foot fitness destination is the city’s first and most expansive space dedicated to indoor pickleball and other social sports. Plus, it’s open year-round, so you can get your fix even when frosty Chicago temps have dipped well below zero. With eight pickleball courts, advanced replay technology, luxe locker rooms with showers and saunas, an indoor turf space for games and events (think movie nights and watch parties) and a cheery lobby and cafe, the venue is the ultimate spot for pickleball enthusiasts. Additionally, SPF’s Winter Fieldhouse pop-up (2367 W. Logan Blvd.) is open through spring 2025, featuring a sleek design by InstantPadel, four new indoor pickleball courts, locker rooms, party rooms, convenient amenities and a just-unveiled designated indoor padel court.

This club offers more than 20 different sports to choose from, and pickleball is one of them. Young professionals gather here to participate in sports leagues and social events, from festivals to tournaments. If you’re looking for some friendly organized competition, join one of the club’s leagues that play at convenient locations such as St. George Church in Lincoln Park, The School House in Old Town, downtown at the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel (CAA) and in Uptown at Disney Magnet School. With 10 locations throughout Chicagoland, this multi-purpose gym and training center offers pickleball leagues, tournaments, training sessions and court rentals by the hour. At the Gold Coast location, the dedicated basketball courts also function as pickleball courts with permanent lines and portable netting. FFC also has pickleball courts at four other Chicago locations, including Park Ridge, Oak Park, Union Station and Elmhurst.

You can never go wrong at the YMCA. Kelly Hall YMCA in Humboldt Park, Irving Park YMCA, Lake View YMCA and McCormick YMCA in Logan Square all have pickleball courts, as well as open-gym availability for pick-up games and beginner pickleball classes.

If you’re looking to hit up the beach, the zoo and a museum all at once, then Margate Park Fieldhouse is your spot. The largest park in Chicago also houses a fieldhouse that has two free pickleball courts made of a wooden surface with permanent lines and portable netting.

Warren Park is a pickleball hot spot with eight available courts—six outdoors and two indoors in the fieldhouse. It’s also home to a pickleball league for deaf and hard-of-hearing players.

One of the city’s most popular outdoor attractions for pickleball games features 16 dedicated pickleball courts and six tennis courts that can be used for pickleball with permanent lines—just make sure to bring your own net.

Gompers Park in the North Park neighborhood has both indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, as well as an outdoor pool, a lagoon and several baseball fields. The two indoor, wood-floored pickleball courts belong to the on-site gym and require bringing a net, while the outdoor pickleball courts are equipped with permanent lines and permanent netting.
