Luxury wines and spirits have taken a dip into the world of NFTs, but thanks to a collaboration with BlockBar, Monkey Shoulder and the Bored Ape Yacht Club, NFT whiskey is about to hit a whole new level of rare.
BlockBar is an NFT platform that works exclusively in the wine and spirits realm that’s helped everyone from Patron to Hennessy launch their first NFTs. Now, the company offers an ultra-exclusive auction that’ll see a select few lucky Bored Apes secure their own bottle of Monkey Shoulder whiskey complete with a personalized label that features their unique Bored Ape.

The launch will be taken in two steps, the first having started on April 25. From now until 10 p.m. ET on Monday, May 2, Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT holders can enter for a chance to win 100 personalized bottles of Monkey Shoulder. Bored Apes must connect their digital wallet to their BAYC NFT to prove ownership.
Only 10 members will ultimately win the bottles, and along with those 100 bottles, each, they’ll win the royalties from subsequent sales. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, May 4.
The second part of the launch kicks off on at 6 p.m. ET on Thursday, May 5, when BlockBar's very own Bored Ape becomes the face of a Monkey Shoulder bottle. The one-of-a-kind imagery will be featured on a limited run of 1,500 bottles of Monkey Shoulders’ signature flavor, along with limited-edition merch available for NFT holders of the BlockBar and Monkey Shoulder drop.
Any bottles left unclaimed by Thursday, May 12, will be released to auction by the general public.

Bored Ape holders can snag their first NFT on the house, and BlockBar NFT holders will receive 50 percent off any quantity of bottles. Any Bored Ape NFT holder who chooses to customize a collection can sell, gift or showcase their editions. Owners of this NFT drop will also get granted access to a BlockBar House event in Miami this summer.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club is one of the most exclusive NFT clubs out there. Only 10,000 unique Bored Ape NFTs exist, and each Bored Ape is generated from more than 170 possible traits, including variations of clothing, expressions and more.
Some Bored Ape NFTs are rarer than others, and your ownership of a Bored Ape doubles as your Yacht Club membership card, which gains you access to members-only benefits.
