The Highwood Design Week 2023 finale party held at 28 Mile Distilling Company
North Shore design lovers can meet top local designers, discover hot color trends and learn how to elevate their spaces at the sixth annual Highwood Design Week. Hosted by the Highwood Chamber of Commerce, this week-long event showcases local talent with free events highlighting vendors and creators.
“We’re proud to host an event that not only celebrates design but also strengthens our community’s creative and economic ties,” says Jennifur Condon, executive director of the Highwood Chamber. “Design Week is an opportunity for businesses and creatives to connect and innovate, keeping Highwood at the forefront of design and collaboration.”
The series kicks off on Monday, Sept. 15, with a visit from color specialist Janet Miller of Sherwin Williams. Tailored to designers, architects, realtors and color enthusiasts, the showcase gives visitors an exclusive look at upcoming color trends.
The Highwood Design Week 2023 ABLAZE Design Group networking event
The second day of the series features a presentation by interior designer, luxury strategist and licensed realtor Rachael Johanson on business strategy and brand development. Featured by the likes of Architectural Digest, Vogue and Forbes, Johanson works with entrepreneurs to increase their brand visibility in the luxury market.
During the Creative Connections event on Wednesday, Sept. 17, guests can network with local vendors and designers while discovering new products and services.
This event is followed by a walking tour of Highwood’s new murals on Thursday, Sept. 18, hosted by James Lynch, executive director of The Art Center Highland Park. Event-goers can get a firsthand look at the area’s most recent public art additions as they learn about the projects, the artists and their unique creative processes.

The series wraps up on Friday, Sept. 19, with gourmet bites, craft cocktails, music and rooftop views.
The week-long event supports The Highwood Chamber of Commerce’s mission to bolster the local community through local business promotion, community engagement and economic growth.
