Holi, an ancient Hindu festival, is known by many names; The Festival of Love, The Festival of Color and sometimes referred to as The Festival of Spring. The festival is often celebrated by people gathering together and throwing colorful powder at one another, leaving people stained in every color imaginable.
Different locations are offering their own ways to celebrate the festival across the city of Chicago and below are some of the best places to be for the Holi celebration.
Navy Pier

On Saturday, March 19, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., celebrate the Festival of Love at Navy Pier. This free event will offer many fun festivities such as live music, dancing and educational programming in the Aon Grand Ballroom. Join in on the grand colorful dye throwing while listening to DJ's at Navy Pier’s outdoor Beer Garden from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy delicious food from Bombay Wraps in the Aon Grand Ballroom as well as beverages which will be available for purchase at multiple locations throughout the event. Artists that will be performing include Funkadesi, DJ Krush and DJ Jeet, Bollywood Groove and so many more!

Color Blast Party

Spend the night celebrating Holi at Chicago’s only indoor late night Holi Color Party on Saturday, March 19. Starting at 10 p.m. and ending at 4:00 a.m., Joe’s on Weed Street will be hosting their annual Holi Color Blast celebration. Dance and drink the night away on the first level of the club, then make your way to the second level to partake in the free color play on their heated outdoor roof deck. Be sure to dress in white so you can experience the color blast and leave the club looking like a rainbow. DJ Roger P and DJ Ujwal will be spinning Bollywood, Bhangra, EDM and club anthems all night long.
Hard Rock Cafe

The Hard Rock Cafe will be hosting their own Festival of Color, starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, March 11. Experience music from Sajan Vadali and DJ Sanjay, who will be spinning Bollywood, EDM, Bhangra, hip hop, club music and top 40. Be sure to join in on the festival of color by throwing 100% organic powder at one another. There will be five bars open for guests, two levels for dancing, stage special effects, even a special guest performance.
