Windy City boutique owner Ikram Goldman has long been a fan of Athens-born designer Mary Katrantzou, whose gorgeously patterned creations have earned her the nickname “Queen of Print” and caught the eye of a who’s who of celebrity clients, from Naomi Campbell and Beyoncé to Cate Blanchett and Zendaya.
Now, though, Goldman has even more reason to get excited about the award-winning talent: her new line Mary Katrantzou MARYMARE, a year-round resort collection of summer dresses, kaft ans and swimwear, each emblazoned with chic signature prints created by Katrantzou herself. Needless to say, Goldman is hooked. What does she appreciate about the new collection? “It’s more accessible, extremely wearable and super-fun,” says Goldman. “The fit of the dresses is glorious—they fit every shape and body like a dream. Most importantly, I really love her spirit in the collection. She’s a serious person in terms of what she does, but she has such a playful heart in the way she executes it.”

Versatility is another major appeal to these pieces, says Goldman. “I sell them a lot for great summer parties, beach parties or even wedding parties. What I really love is that you can dress them up or down depending on the event.
