The Illinois Holocaust Museum’s annual Women’s Leadership Committee soiree was a smashing success, as 450 guests gathered at the Chicago Botanic Garden on a gorgeous, sunny day.
At the sold-out event, which was emceed by Melissa Forman of 93.9 LITE FM’s Melissa Forman in the Morning, guests reveled in a live performance by Frank Sinatra cover band A Tribute to Old Blue Eyes while enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from sushi stations and tenderloin carvingstations.
Museum senior vice president of education and exhibitions Kelley Szany shared museum highlights, such as the opening of its VR gallery and its induction into the Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame. The group raised more than $365,000, which goes toward supporting the museum’s mission to combat hatred, prejudice and indifference, and to inspire visitors to speak out for what is right.
