The Lugano Chicago Oak Street boutique
Luxury jewelry brand Lugano has just made its Chicago debut—opening a boutique inside a three-story, 15,800-square-foot building on Oak Street, one of the Windy City’s most iconic retail destinations. The location, now established at 100 E. Oak St., will house the label’s members’ club, Lugano Privé, on the third floor and two private member amenity suites on the second floor.
With a mission of redefining the jewelry shopping experience, CEO, co-founder and jewelry expert Moti Ferder established the brand in Newport Beach in 2005. Today, the marquee has garnered a reputation for its client-centered approach and one-of-a-kind designs, which include rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, brooches and equestrian-inspired jewelry styles. Many feature rare and precious gemstones like emeralds, Paraiba tourmalines and pink diamonds while incorporating unique materials like ceramic, carbonium and titanium.
The brand is also known for its philanthropic efforts, maintaining partnerships with over 120 national and global organizations. To celebrate the opening of its Chicago boutique, Lugano has partnered with local institutions, including the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Joffrey Ballet.

“We are thrilled to build our presence in Chicago, a city rich in history, culture, and the arts—values that align seamlessly with our brand’s passions,” Ferder says. “We look forward to engaging with the community and establishing a meaningful impact through our philanthropic efforts.”
The three-story space, designed by COO and co-founder Idit Ferder, encompasses a ground-floor boutique and a top floor that is set to house the second location of the California-based label’s exclusive social club, Lugano Privé.
Slated to open in fall 2025, the brand’s first Privé space outside of Newport Beach will provide premier access to a wide selection of events, including intimate dinners with acclaimed chefs, rare wine tastings, a speaker series with industry luminaries and private performances, along with a lineup of Chicago-exclusive programming.

“Lugano Privé is an extension of who we are. It transforms luxury into a full lifestyle,” says Lugano president Josh Gaynor. “It’s a space for meaningful conversation and connection, bringing together individuals who share a commitment to making a social impact in their communities. What sets Lugano Privé apart is its focus on philanthropy—one of its core principles is fostering a desire to make a difference with members who have a background rooted in this commitment.”
Lugano will also debut Maison in the fall, a new concept for the brand and an exclusive amenity for Privé members. The home-away-from-home boasts two fully furnished private suites with Mag Mile views, bespoke concierge services, access to Privé fine dining, high-end artwork and more.
Gaynor concludes, “As we look ahead to the second half of 2025 and beyond, we’re excited to continue expanding with new locations in key cities. Stay tuned for announcements on upcoming developments as we continue to evolve and remain at the forefront of innovation, luxury and curated experiences.”
