Situated in a park that was once a hub for the city’s elite, the newly minted Lytle Park Hotel is once again a buzzy locale for the well-heeled. Open since summer 2020, the historic 1909 property, which at one time was an inn that accommodated women from rural areas who came to work in the city, is an instant Cincinnati classic for locals and tourists alike.
Guest rooms are appointed with contemporary furnishings and selects such as an analog clock in a nod to the property’s historic roots.
Guests are immediately immersed into the luxurious Autograph Collection hotel via a grand lobby with soaring ceilings that flows into the gorgeous lobby bar outfitted with a massive chandelier surrounding the circular bar, sleek brass accents and burnt orange-hued seats, which all exude a modern twist on old-world glamour. To further elevate the area, lush foliage adds texture to the space and complements ultrachic furnishings and sculptural selects like glossy tree trunk-inspired side tables.

Upon entering the room, I’m instantly drawn to the gorgeous view of the Ohio River and Newport, Ky.’s downtown area just across the water. The beauty evident in the lobby carries on through the guest rooms where blue accents, such as patterned carpeting and headboards, punctuate the chic design. Plus, Diptyque amenities in the bathroom assure every aspect of a stay here is luxurious. “The decor and finishes throughout the hotel and guest rooms have left a lasting impression,” says Brett Woods, area managing director and general manager of The Lytle Park Hotel. “The hotel has always put the guest experience first, which has allowed us to stand out as one of the top luxury hotels in Cincinnati.”

Another major draw is the property’s exquisite food and beverage program, which Woods notes the hotel continues to elevate through brand partnerships and activations like monthly specialty cocktail offerings. On the ground floor, Italian restaurant and lounge Subito offers an impressive culinary experience, as well as dishes such as mouthwatering cacio e pepe, pepperoni and Italian honey pizza (a popular appetizer among the dinner crowd), and the most perfectly prepared filet I’ve ever tasted. After dinner, many travel up to the rooftop for a nightcap where Cincinnati’s only four-season rooftop bar—naturally dubbed Vista—which bears breathtaking views of the city and river, awaits.
At the hotel’s ground-floor eatery, Subito, dishes like pasta topped with fresh seafood put the restaurant on the city’s culinary map.
