Marrow Fine debuts a dazzling jewelry showroom in the Gold Coast.
Marrow’s monochromatic “Babe Cave” offers an eye-popping design moment via a custom marble table and rich ruby velvet from floor to ceiling.
In the eight years since she founded luxe jewelry brand Marrow Fine, creative director Jillian Sassone, alongside her husband and partner Tim, has garnered an impressive roster of A-list fans (think Margot Robbie, Machine Gun Kelly and Jessica Alba). Crafted exclusively with reclaimed gold, conflict-free gemstones and materials sourced from select family-owned suppliers that follow Kimberly Process standards, each Marrow creation is designed to be worn frequently and last for generations.
With locations in Newport Beach and San Diego, this is Marrow’s first expansion outside of its home state, and as Sassone says, it was a no-brainer. “Chicago has always been our biggest market outside of Southern California,” she shares. “It just felt right that our first showroom outside of California would be here. There are a lot of stylish folks in the city with a specific design point of view, but there isn’t a lot of independent jewelry design to fulfill that style need. It felt like the perfect opportunity.”
“We want to create classic, timeless designs while pushing the boundaries and playing a little,” Sassone says, adding that interiors firm Bells + Whistles (who also designed the California boutiques) shares the same outlook. “We worked closely with [the L.A.- based firm] to create a space that in many ways feels like you’ve stepped into the jewel box.” The 1,000-square-foot space exudes Marrow’s signature breezy elegance via chic terrazzo floors, neutral hues and a rich red nook that adds perfectly dramatic flair. Adds Sassone, “I love working with their team because they typically design hospitality spaces, and we want our showrooms to feel more like a luxe, welcoming hotel lobby than the traditional, sometimes intimidating, jewelry showroom.”
“There’s so much to love about this city,” Sassone concludes. “The beautiful architecture, the music, the incredible cuisine, and especially our wonderful clients. I think that’s why we found early success in Chicago.” 9 W. Walton St.
