Two iconic Chicago luxury hotels emerge anew this season following transformative renovations.

PARK HYATT CHICAGO
The original Park Hyatt-branded property reopened its doors this summer, revealing a jaw-dropping $60 million revamp. The team at nationally acclaimed design firm Anderson/Miller Ltd. has breathed new life into the guest rooms, which are now appointed with a naturally soothing color palette and vibrant green accents. On the ground floor, local firm Sheedy DeLaRosa Interiors modernized the lobby and library with white marble accents that play off the light-toned spaces where the artwork takes center stage.

The Park Hyatt also added new suite categories and 23 new suite additions, including the Wellbeing Suite (complete with inroom exercise equipment), and refreshed food and beverage offerings at the property’s eatery NoMI restaurant. General manager Rike Erdbrink adds, “We could not be more excited to welcome guests back to the newly reimagined hotel, which will redefine the quintessential sophistication of Park Hyatt Chicago and provide a residential oasis for locals and worldly travelers.” 800 N. The ultra-elegant Waldorf Astoria Chicago also shows off a new look this season after undergoing a wide-scale refurbishment by the property’s original designer, awardwinning Chicago-based KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group.
Beloved bar Bernard’s received a facelift through the renovation.
“We’re delighted to usher in a new chapter for Waldorf Astoria Chicago, and we’re honored to reunite with KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group to execute this refreshed design vision,” says general manager Todd Temperly. In the lobby, guests will first notice the recently unveiled Peacock Lounge, a glamorous space featuring feather wall panels and inviting velvet seats, which pays homage to the New York flagship’s original Peacock Alley.

Along with the enhanced spa and new brasserie concept Brass Tack, helmed by newly appointed executive chef Nicholas Marino, the Waldorf’s beloved cocktail lounge, Bernard’s, reemerges as an intimate sanctuary adorned in rich, dark hues accented by tweeds and equestrian influences. As well, the dazzling, reimagined presidential suite complements the new 1,735-square-foot Astoria Suite, both of which evoke an elegant Parisian essence. 11 E. Walton St.
