One of the most expansive boutiques in Ralph Lauren’s global portfolio—located in the heart of Chicago’s Mag Mile—has unveiled its newly refreshed space. With a Gilded Age, beaux-arts mansion-inspired design, the 37,000-square-foot, four-story flagship store now encompasses new tailoring areas, shoppable digital displays and a reimagined floor plan accented by quintessential statement pieces and garments, which spin an anecdotal tale of the iconic brand’s storied legacy. Open since 1998, the salon is home to the first restaurant in the brand’s roster, RL Restaurant, and the newly debuted Ralph’s Coffee outpost.
“Our Chicago flagship is an incredible example of the full breadth of Ralph Lauren’s vision for lifestyle and allows consumers to step into the brand’s cinematic universe, an experience unique to us and our store,” says David Lauren, chief branding and innovation officer of Ralph Lauren.
The first-story men’s floor has undergone a dramatic transformation, incorporating a redesigned Men’s Purple Label tailoring suite, a new dedicated space for the flagship’s made-to-measure program, and Double RL brand expression in the form of vintage embellishments and white bead-board detailing. Ralph Lauren’s Men’s Polo space is now accented with antique brass hardware, updated stained oak walls and vintage artwork.
Crystal detailing and wood varnishing set a glamorous scene for the third-floor women’s collection salon, meshing luxe decor from the brand’s home collection with hand-carved wall paneling and custom plaster crown molding. Oversize windows feature Michigan Avenue views, and signature Ralph Lauren wallcoverings and fabrics adorn the women’s VIP Suite—a first-of-its-kind introduction for the flagship store.
