Buzzy European outdoor furniture brand RODA hits Fulton Market with the debut of Hundred Mile’s sleek new showroom.
Ranging from teak, stone and stainless steel dining tables to modular sofas that transform outdoor spaces into extensions of the living room, RODA’s offerings are on full display in Fulton Market.
As a wave of top interiors brands lay down roots in Fulton Market, the bustling area has fast become the city’s hottest new design district. So when Kristina Albaugh and Josh Ingmire, co-founders of East Coast-based lifestyle concept showroom Hundred Mile, set their sights on expanding to the Windy City, it was clear where they would set up shop.
The new RODA flagship aptly showcases the brand’s high-quality outdoor furniture by bringing the outdoors in via greenery throughout the showroom.
The West Loop-based pair founded Hundred Mile in 2013 and have since worked with top furniture, lighting and design brands such as Poliform, Edra, Carl Hansen and more. Today, they represent nearly 50, including Italian outdoor furniture label RODA, to which Hundred Mile’s new showroom is exclusively dedicated. “We moved to the West Loop in 2003 and enjoyed renovating a few lofts throughout the years,” Albaugh shares. “It’s incredible how the design district has changed and grown into what it is now.”
As for choosing RODA as their exclusive showroom partner, she says: “We have a long history with RODA and believe strongly in the product. We felt that it deserved its own presence in Chicago.” With modern high-quality selects like modular sofas, ergonomic lounge chairs, sculptural tables and a luxe outdoor kitchen, all complemented by the space’s lush greenery, warm wood and exposed brick, RODA’s offerings are a clear fit for the Chicago market—for both residential and commercial clients. “Our projects vary from restaurants and private residences to boats and hotels,” Albaugh adds. “We hope that when people visit the showroom, they feel inspired and at home in the space. We wanted to create the feeling of being outdoors and comfortable in the environment so they can feel what it is like to live with RODA in their own homes or businesses.” 1052 W.
