Fashion designer Roland Mouret steps back into the spotlight with a stunning revival of his eponymous label.
Eleganza extravaganza: A sophisticated look from the new collection by Roland Mouret
In the early 2000s, Roland Mouret was a designer whose fabulously cut and draped garments were worn by A-list fashionistas the world over. Now, aft er fading from the limelight over the past several years, the storied brand has been revived—and, as Chicago style guru Ikram Goldman proclaims, it’s better than ever. “Mouret is taking inspiration from his classic pieces while breathing new life into the feel and the look,” explains Goldman, adding, “It’s a very ladylike collection with beautiful dresses and jumpsuits and gorgeous eveningwear.” 
How does the boutique owner see her clientele wearing the collection? “For me, this is more of a sophisticated look; it’s a luncheon, a dinner, a black tie event. It’s for a special occasion, something very, very elegant.” In short, says Goldman, Mouret’s return was worth the wait. “Sometimes people just need to take that moment to revitalize their work—and he has nailed it.” 15 E.
