Known for its sophisticated pub-style European charm and signature fish and chips, The Gage has poured hundreds of thousands of beers throughout its fifteen years in the city. To commemorate its time in the famous Magnificent Mile of Chicago, the iconic eatery and bar is offering new menus and specials alike for its guests in July.
Don’t miss The Gage’s special anniversary menu, which highlights the restaurant’s most beloved dishes over the years. Try the scotch egg, an appetizer made with fennel sausage, farm-fresh egg, black pudding, and apple mostarda ($15). Or, try the restaurant’s fan-favorite take on classic, fish and chips, made with beer-battered fish, lemons, tartar, and crispy fries ($24).
Indulge in The Gage’s sweet cherry pie, baked with Michigan cherries, cherry chantilly, ginger-oat crumble, almonds, and made large enough to share with a friend ($18).
Along with its new (and old) menus, the restaurant is offering daily specials. On Tuesdays, enjoy The Gage’s signature fish & chips for just $15. On Thursdays, try the venison burger & fries, made with gouda, jalapeño, roasted mushroom, mustard aioli, and pickled onions ($15). Swing by the restaurant on Sundays for $10 featured wines by the glass.
The Gage will also be offering luxurious wines, including champagne, prosecco, French chardonnay, and Syrah. In the spirit of the eatery’s 15-year anniversary, all of the wines are aged 15 years. Try the Thienot Cuvee Alain 2007 brut champagne or the divine French chardonnay, Daniel-Etienne Defaix, Chablis Cote de Lechet 1er Cru 2007, for a rare wine that will pair well with The Gage’s tasty bites.
A portion of all proceeds from specials will be donated to the Great Lakes Alliance. The organization's mission is to protect and maintain the Great Lakes, including Lake Michigan, Chicago’s water source.
