Luxe residential building The Row Fulton Market debuts in the heart of the city’s buzziest neighborhood.
The Row is a stone’s throw from some of the city’s best bars and restaurants
Around the corner from the West Loop’s bustling Restaurant Row, Related Midwest’s recently completed luxury rental development The Row sits at the crux of one of the city’s buzziest neighborhoods. With 300 units (including a set of six ultraluxe penthouses) throughout 43 stories, it’s Fulton Market’s tallest residential high-rise to date, and it levels up the neighborhood’s skyline with a striking carbon black-hued facade imagined by design firm Morris Adjmi Architects, known for its work in historic areas such as New York City’s Meatpacking District.

“The Row is a reflection of its historic surroundings and is deeply rooted in Chicago’s rich architectural tradition,” says Ann thompson, executive vice president of architecture and design at Related Midwest. “The architects drew inspiration from the industrial heritage of this former meatpacking district and the vocabulary of the ‘L.’ This is particularly evident in the deeply expressed dark metal facade and the curved metal detailing.”
Natural lights floods a residential dining area.
Take one step into the opulent yet intimate lobby, and it’s clear that the building’s public spaces (crafted by global interiors firm March and White Design) are worthy of the building’s stately exterior. “The MAWD team took a hospitality-inspired approach to give the Row a private club feel while maximizing indoor-outdoor connections,” Thompson adds. Throughout the common spaces and residences, ranging from convertibles to four-bedroom units, an elevated modern aesthetic featuring rich textures and a warm color palette is complemented by midcentury architectural references, as seen at the lobby’s fireplace, paired stained wood paneling, and rich green suede wallcoverings behind the reception desk.
This luxe residence offers prime views from the bedroom and living area.
With a focus on creating an environment suitable for life, work and play, the Row offers one of the city’s most modern and comprehensive amenity suites. An expansive coworking space, with a library and gathering lounge, appointed phone booths, meeting spaces and various thoughtful seating configurations, cater to the growing WFH crowd (whose little ones can head to the playful children’s room), while the sixth floor’s nearly 14,000-square-foot deck—complete with a sun-drenched pool, outdoor kitchens and fire pits overlooking the city—offers a resortlike experience from the comfort of home. Additional perks like a reservable entertainment suite, state-of-the-art fitness center and wellness studio with terraces perfect for open-air workouts complete the Row’s 22,600 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities.
The development leaves no box unchecked and offers a living experience fit for everyone from young families to empty nesters. Sums up thompson, “The gracious, thoughtful unit planning, rich amenities and service-forward approach will enhance the lifestyle of any resident.” 164 N. Peoria St.
